SPEAKER_00We're not gonna see each other again in person now for like a year, probably.
SPEAKER_01That's not true. You wish you wish if this is if this is what you wish for, just not seeing me for another 12 months. I can make this happen. That's no problem. But I'm I'm good with Nathan now in doing my sessions with him, apparently, and with Andrew.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're just honestly, you're just I I just feel like that we need to have a frank discussion about this relationship because you you've got you've got these you know side community people, you know, up the wazoo now. You've got you've got you've got Nathan, you've got you've got Bibby. Uh I think we talk about a new session with somebody else. We're gonna have to have a frank discussion about the parameters of this relationship, Sebastian, because it's just you know, I I need this, I need these boundaries.
SPEAKER_01First of all, it's not like that I pitched you two sessions in the last seven seven days or so, and for the one you just didn't answer on me on WhatsApp, so you just let it like stand there in the room. The other one you liked a lot, so there's a lot of potential in that one. And then you have started all of that in kicking me out on the workshop and and doing with Catherine. So you fuck off.
SPEAKER_00Okay, well now we're getting now again personal now. Okay, well, let's let's let's both let's both commit now to you know to to to sort of to the relationship again. Uh we don't need to we don't need counseling or anything like that. Let's just make a sincere effort to work together. I did like your idea about that session that you mentioned, which uh which one I think I did it. I don't know. We we will do things together. You did uh yeah, but obviously, you know, one of one of the issues that you know can prevent us from sort of you know reconciling this is the fact that I'm traveling so much with Joe's travels. Yeah, see what we did there?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, so so so where have you been and where do you go?
SPEAKER_00Where have I been? So we so I can tell you the answer to the previous one. Again, the we we we people clearly love this feature because we got absolutely zero replies at all. So clearly, uh I'm just gonna continue on the hopes that yeah, we may get somebody else in our comments.
SPEAKER_01Maybe they can also send us maybe um Instagram direct messages and post under the the posts we'd be doing. Maybe that would be help. We may need to step up our social media game, Joseph.
SPEAKER_00Yes, I may, yeah. You see, we did that, he's he's making it my problem, basically. SPEAKER_00There was some snow. And literally, as I was, I just I landed in Bergen, I spent a day there, and then I got a train down to Oslo, and there was literally snow in the mountains. It was the first of June. I was just I could not believe it at all.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_00I could not believe it. I'll maybe do a link to maybe the video um in the notes session description so you can see for yourself. Interesting. Snow in June, what can you expect? Um, but no, very nice. Um very I would recommend you go there. Uh it has got the nice sort of houses there, uh nice German influence. Yeah, houses. Yeah, the Hansa houses, the German houses, of course. Yeah, yeah, Hamza. See, see how the German reacts to that, see? Um, very nice sort of place. So hopefully we'll get a chance to go back there when maybe it's a bit sunny because it was also uh absolutely pissing down there when I was there. Never mind. SPEAKER_01I don't know. I and not in not in your case, but just in very general. But yeah, you you can build it together. You get the tools, you can build it together. You're an agent, so you are exactly building that by yourself. I just give you like the the tools by hand, and you can build that joke for you. Exactly.
SPEAKER_00You know what else you can you know else she can build by hand.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, exactly. Yeah, nice. I have no idea where you're going next. So I I literally have no idea. Not even know if it's a conference or if it's maybe some some kind of occasion you're taking, because actually it's uh June. So I I think major events for the first half a year are done. That means as well that we are back to home cooked meals and not to fancy burgers at um events and uh event food. So I um I think I can share what we need to hear about what you're eating, clearly.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, this is this is a popular feature. I've had it conferred by a few people that this is why they're listening, they want to hear about what we're eating. So do tell us.
SPEAKER_01I I I really don't know why this is so interesting, to be honest. So please let me know why this is so interesting. So um we may have her all-time classic here. Um, I have literally the picture right here next to me, and I I just had a quick, quick lunch today because um I had the docs and um I was in between two um presentations, so therefore it was just quick, and I'm I'm maybe a bit hungry, and so therefore, um I'm looking at this picture and I'm kind of suffering a little bit. But what I had recently was um the classic chicken, rice, and um your vegetables, kids eat your vegetables, it's very important. This is where we live longer, and this is why I'm still looking not a year older than 35. Um, I'm 45 by the way, so this is a joke. Uh, therefore, so I had some some decent vegetables um from like most likely Italy because um there is a lot of olives, and I I don't know all of the names in English to be fair, but like the main ingredient is of course the chicken and uh the rice. Rice is cooked in my rice cooker, of course. I have a very special special one um from a German rice cooking company basically. So um that makes absolutely delicious rice, um, unless you're my girlfriend and you put into less water because I like it really, really sticky, really um soaked into water, and then um the chicken was done in the um air fryer, the good old air fryer guy. So um it is topped with a little bit of pesto and cheese and uh good amount of um flavor, and the idea is that like the the top is very crusty and very crispy, and then inside it's it's very very soft, and this is exactly how it was. And to top this up, there is a self-made um quark and cheese-based dip to it, which we can see as well in the picture, which we will upload once this episode is live because I take took a picture of it. I'm learning, guys. I'm getting dear, so yeah, so you see, I love it. Yeah, yes, uh, yeah, so so pretty much classic. Um I I can may add something to the general um public that um likes to um talk about my food behavior because I also went um back to um my hometown um last week, two weeks ago, two weeks ago. Um and there is the oldest beer fest in Germany or South Germany, in Germany, in Europe, somewhere like that. So there's a lot of claims around that, so it's it's very tough to make this claim, but it's a very, very old um beer fest in the middle of Erlangen, and they have gigantic pretzels. So there are, I'm not shitting you, there are bigger than my hat, and they are so delicious. They're not made out of this like German Bretzel dough, they are made um on the same dough which you make. Um, I don't know what is the word for uh so you so buns basically, basically. So buns. So when you uh yeah, it's like so you and you have your burger buns basically, so these kind of thing, and then and then the pretzel is made of this same dough, so it's it's really delicious, and they're huge, and um you best have them with uh with some sausages or some cheese for um your prot site, which we already learned. So prot site very famous here as well.
SPEAKER_00I suppose an advantage of the local beer festivals as well is they're not gonna have reams and reams of English, Australian, and other other associated ilk tourists ruining the proceedings.
SPEAKER_01Actually, actually, this is this is a fun thing because they they really tried over the past year to make this like your tourist attraction. So I um when I was younger, when I was like, I don't know, like what is the legal age where I can drink? 16, 17, 18?
SPEAKER_00And this kind of in Germany, wasn't it? Or in Germany?
SPEAKER_01I have a picture of like me being a toddler and like on the beer with one of those massive beers, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, yeah, yeah. Who needs a milk bottle? I've I've got a beer, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, of course. Um, actually not a beer drinker, by the way. But yeah, um, so so they made it uh like a tourist attraction for this uh whole region, basically. So I um when I was younger and got there, um it was basically the chance to meet like a lot of people you know, and a lot of people you may just see like once or twice a year, or stay in contact with people you went to uh school with and stuff like that. And meanwhile, you don't see anyone you know anymore there, just like a few people, like here and there, but like I think like two-thirds of the people are just tourists, they're just plotted tourists, and even like back in the days, there are people from Australia, Japan, or like anywhere else from the world just coming there for this beer fest. So there are tourists, yeah, and they're English people as well.
SPEAKER_00Okay, yeah, and are are the English people making fools out of themselves?
SPEAKER_01Yes, of course, but as well, but as well the Germans one as well.
SPEAKER_00So okay, so so it's all fair buns then okay. So I'm I'm I'm always a big fan of the pretzels. I'm a big I'm a secret carb addict, so um, yeah, that pretzel sounds to me more interesting. Chicken rice is always chicken and rice is always quite good. You know, we're in the UK, we're always down for cheeky nando's and stuff like that. But uh yeah, I think that pretzel, I want to eat a pretzel like that one day. That is my goal in life.
SPEAKER_01Did you did you ever try the Orbotstar?
SPEAKER_00I don't think so. Maybe. Maybe next time I'm there.
SPEAKER_01We need to we need to figure it out because then we may we may need to get you one of these YouTube pretzels with some Orbotsta because this is really nice.

SPEAKER_01Yes, next time when you're in Nymberg, I will I will bring this to your office because I yeah, I can actually get this from here. So um yeah, we will get this for you. Alright, so I think this this is our regular feature with what I have eating and where you're traveling next. What else is happening in the world? Um, not only the world capital.
SPEAKER_00I think there was a pretty big Microsoft event last week, wasn't there? Is that mistaken?
SPEAKER_01I was not personally invited, I think. So no one like requested me to join there, but I think I still I still watched it online. So Microsoft Build, I think. You want to claim um that. Um yeah, so Microsoft Build, maybe you can give the listeners and watchers, viewers, not watchers, viewers. Um, you can give them maybe a small intro into what is Microsoft Build and why you should pay attention to that.
SPEAKER_00It's traditionally builds like the developer conference. I've sort of understood, you know. So whereas Ignite is maybe more kind of sales-y, kind of partner focused. We're here at Build, we're always talking about the good stuff, you know, build, how we can extend things out, how we can, you know, do Debbie sort of stuff, you know, work with code, all this sort of good stuff. And of course, at the moment, all around AI and everything else like that. So it's it's very much for people like us, it's for the techies, you know.
SPEAKER_01Full of techies. That's why they, for example, announced the project Solara with with some digital badges you can talk to agents, which is very weird. But I was very surprised to saw see that. But yeah, so yeah, there were a lot of announcements.
SPEAKER_00Solar look quite interesting, though. Yeah, sorry, Solara looked quite interesting.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it was, and I I really want to have this batch with like this digital picture of me, and I can basically it's it's like your it looks like a bit like a smartphone, and you put it in this like grandparents mode where you just have like three buttons to click and everything is like supersized in the text, and then you just click on it, and then you can talk to an agent, and and then it gets back to you at some point. So it looks like that, but I really want to have that. It's just like don't I have a phone for that? And isn't my phone maybe capable to run all of that at some point?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so create this all around giving us these local devices again that can then sort of you know communicate with these large language models and then give us some useful information back. So getting us to hopefully to a point where all of this can be done locally rather than maybe relying on the cloud.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think that they're there, I think like this year's builders are definitely a step forward into hosting things locally. So there were, for example, there was as well the guy or some guys from Ulama there to uh to talk about hosting your models as well. Microsoft announced, I think, two two new SLMs, so small language models with ion, so a ion. Um there are seven new different models from the Microsoft AI lab. Um they call it just May, M-A-M-A-I. Um, and they're I think they're really based on or targeting to be fine-tuned and used just in a local context. Um, and they they have different strengths for uh image generation, uh, with voice and um, for example, coding experiences. So very, very specific in those different areas. Um, each of the models brings their strength into it. So it that screams like I want to train this with my data and potentially look into I can host this locally with maybe one of these new survey surface devices or with this Nvidia RTX Spark dev box, which which they also announced. So I think this um dev box is like a um I don't want to tell anything wrong, but I I think it's like one one peta flop of AI computing, which sounds something like something I wanna own in Bunny, basically. But um like super intense, and it will be interesting. Like, what is the price tag on that, or if this is a real alternative, or maybe it gets to to your point where just the models are okay good enough just to host them on your like latest MacBook or something.
SPEAKER_00Um, so this is very very interesting to just do you ever get the feeling that kind of history is repeating itself? We we'll we go okay, we're going to go into the cloud, we're going to the server. Oh no, we're going back to the device. Oh, we're going over there. We seem to be constantly going from device to remote server, remote server to device, and things like that. We seem to be everything seems to be cyclical.
SPEAKER_01It it's it looks a little bit like that, right? That there is like a full cycle of this whole blowing story, and then at first point we're going to the cloud and we're going back. But also, you have seen that there is there are some challenges with like everything hosting in the cloud, especially if you're from the EU or UK. Um, so not everything is available for us here. Um, speaking of, for example, uh Microsoft Cowork or Cloud Code or in general using anthropic models inside this Microsoft ecosystem. And if, for example, local hosting um would make this more accessible and as well hosting in terms of um bringing down the costs, um, I could definitely see that that at least like this processing compute happens um locally for some tasks. Um, but also there I think it will go into your hybrid solution at some point. But like things are getting processed locally, um, especially as well with the announcements of uh OpenClaw being on Windows natively, which also runs natively, um, using the Microsoft execution container um and on your machine, and as well with autopilots, for example, which are also basically based on open claw and are always on agents that work autonomously and act on the user's behalf, also working machine. And you can may remember just a few months ago when like everyone was buying Mac minis to run their open claw systems, and you just gave in like all of your credentials, and it could figure out everything and buy you stocks on your behalf, and um now it is is going into a more secure and a more um governed way in in the market ecosystem, which would be quite interesting. And I think we could see in the in the past weeks as well, um, with GitHub Copilot and the autopilot mode there, um, how this works. And the interesting part is like how it works is kind of it forces itself like to get to the solution. Um, of course, this needs to be governed in a good way that it does not take any route which is not supported or goes outside the the work spice you're working with, so it does not force um to get the deal done and gives like 120% uh off of the deal as a discount, so that you need to pay the customer at the end that uh he he signs the contract. So there needs to be some boundaries, but I think with with autopilots, this is maybe something um to explore. And um, Microsoft also was very um did not hesitate a moment to bring in their first um own first party autopilot um with Microsoft Scout. Um, you may can elaborate a little bit about that one.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it's kind of like a new agent type, a new autopilot type sort of agent, as you understand. Um, so designed really to help us in terms of keep grounded in terms of where our work is, uh um, and really just I guess helping us to be more focused, I think. That's what I understood.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think it can as well kind of um get across your um teams and outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, a little bit like like a cowork version of it. So maybe like your local cowork or like your co-work agent a little bit. Um, so I yeah, let's let's see. We have not tried it. I have not tried it.
SPEAKER_00So I can sort of like use it and delegate action. So if I'm running late for a meeting, it knows that I'm still in my previous meeting, it can kind of send a message to the person who's waiting saying, sorry, you you you're you're you're not important enough for this person to run meeting on time.
SPEAKER_01Oh, does it reference to like when we started this podcast like 45 minutes ago and I had to wait for 50 minutes? Yeah, that would be great if I could ever get a message that you will be like 50 minutes late so that I can do something.
SPEAKER_00I know I I went a step further. I literally, with my own hands, messaged you to say I was gonna be late.
SPEAKER_01So that's how that was lame. So why do you do this with your own hands? I guess what else are you gonna use it for? So because actually we have not enabled it as an hour tenant yet. We we are looking into that. There is a little compliant question because um, what is what is used by autopilots in the background is the new GitHub or new GitHub is GitHub Copilot with the no, this is new with the new um um licensing or charging model basically. Um, Blopp has mentions Blopp has mentioned.
SPEAKER_00Three things so frontier tenant enrollment, uh in tune policy configuration, you have to do an opt-in attestation. Yes.
SPEAKER_01Um that happens on Intune, basically. So yeah, there is there is a setting on on the Mac, so Microsoft Admin Center, your global admin need to activate that, and then you have you jump over to Intune, um, where you as well need to add a policy for uh Microsoft's guide that then as well um is required because the actual agent runs as a um local app on everyone's devices, so that needs to be enabled there as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, so it'd be it's be interesting to see, but I think I'm guessing with the attestation and the frontier enrollment, then yeah, it's probably is it using anthropic band scenes potentially? I would assume.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's the point. It uses the GitHub core pilot subscription you have. So um um it I think it uses kind of something like the auto model or model routing. So you can say if you use any anthropic model in your GitHub organization, um then it there is a chance it uses the um uh anthropic model, which would be a personal issue for us. So uh because of course, because when it has access to teams, to outlook and stuff like that, um, it will be aware of um personal data of colleagues which are in the EU or customers from Germany or EU or UK. So it just will be a blocker for us at the moment, but um I have not yet spent enough time to make a final call on that, so don't quote me on that. I just want to raise basically the the concern a little bit um that it might be um evaluating uh some GDPRs um based on like how it works in the background, because I think you cannot control it if you can control it, that it you can, for example, exclude certain models, or you can may have a setting on GitHub, that would be awesome because then you can just make sure that more people have access to it and can use or make use of it.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so I'll blame you if we can't use it then.
SPEAKER_01Yes, yes, blame me, blame me. I'm I'm responsible for that actually.
SPEAKER_00So yeah, yeah, um I think as well, there's other interesting things as well. We have a new IQ, we have more IQ now have five in total, is it now?
SPEAKER_01Or is it five now?
SPEAKER_00I thought it was five IQ, so we're gradually moving towards an acceptable intelligence level here.
SPEAKER_01Oh, yeah, there so you maybe can do a song like tell us your IQs. We have fabric IQ. So we have fabric IQ, foundry IQ, which is you there fabric work IQ, which is three. Yeah, the new one is web IQ, yeah, which is four. Are we missing my IQ?
SPEAKER_00I don't know. Maybe maybe I'm just getting confused.
SPEAKER_01Maybe my IQ I think you're getting confused because I I think we have four right now. So, first of all, the new one, the new kit on the block, is WebIQ, and um that's basically Microsoft's state-of-the-art grounding service for any AI agents and assistants, and based on their documentation, it returns um or is designed for for better injection into LLMs of their context. So it's basically a web search 2.0, um, where it is built on still being search infrastructure, but um made more available or made more compliant, not compliant, but compatible to LLMs, so which is interesting, and the same thing literally happens on the work IQ side. So um, so far you always had like this toggle. You remember Joe? You have this toggle between web and work on your M3C5 Cupala chat. This is no gone, you only have like turn on work IQ or not, and what is happening basically is that work IQ is your layer between your interaction and the graph, which where graph is basically having all of the nice information from uh teams and Outlook and stuff like that, and then you do have an AI optimized graph connector now with the work IQ APIs, which are also new. So it could be it seems like they're building oh, sorry.
SPEAKER_00I was just gonna say, could this be the moment where Bing is like, you know, everyone's gonna be worshipping it now as a you know, because of all the things?
SPEAKER_01I don't know because it was using Bing any race before, but I I think it it goes into more direction where um Microsoft starts to build new products, not for the end user, but like for the agents that like these agents become more efficient and um have more features in it or have it easier to retrieve meaningful answers, which is an interesting development, actually. So the new features are not on not only targeting you anymore, they're targeting your agents now, Joe. How do you I feel personal attacked?
SPEAKER_00I think an interesting start they're claiming as part of all of this is that around the token efficiency. Um so by using the web IQ, they can actually reduce your overall sort of token costs of per sort of call. So given that we're seeing generally kind of a bit more of a push towards, I guess, um, you know, um capping token usage or maybe monetizing token usage more and more and more, you know, anything we can do to try and reduce that is obviously gonna be you know really helpful.
SPEAKER_01Um I think in general talking um token consumption, token um, how do we charge tokens is a pretty interesting topic for the future as well.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, Sam Alton was sort of keep saying it's gonna be similar to like you know common utilities that you buy, water, electricity, and stuff like that, it's all gonna be kind of token driven. So yeah, if you want to eat in future, you need your tokens.
SPEAKER_01Do you know this this movie with Justin Timberlake, like in time or something, where he has like this uh this little count on on his um on his wrist or something, and then every time he goes to work, he clocks in, and then he gets paid in more time, and when the countdown goes down, he just dies. I think this is this is the the future we have signed up for. It's just with tokens. So every time when I do something, I just like consume tokens, and then if I go back to zero, I have like three minutes to find a credit card, or it's just die.
SPEAKER_00So all of our horrors and fears realized. I mean, you really send it to me in a big way.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. Sounds good. Awesome. There is also some more announcements um which I want to put a spotlight on um because I may or may have not been a private preview for that, um, which is the GitHub uh co palette application. So it's basically um a how to say that a wipe coding GitHub Copilot application on GitHub. So you can run this as well locally, of course, but um you can kind of download that and um try your things out, which you um usually would do with, for example, VS Code or with the GitHub Copilot CLI. There you just have like a full-blown chat experience, you have access to your full folder structure, to your workspaces, you can um bring in cloud code, for example, if you do want so um, so definitely something to figure out, and they have now as well brought in the support of canvases, so not only to display text back, but also coding results as a picture or as an interface um instead of just text, which is pretty interesting, and I still need to try that, which of course it's looks pretty cool.
SPEAKER_00But you say you didn't need the private preview for that, did you?
SPEAKER_01There was a private preview for that, but I think right now it's just in uh public preview, so you can just uh sign it up. I think the public preview should start soon. We will put a link into the description down below where you can sign up to to get access to GitHub Copilot because there is a public um link for that, um, where you can just basically uh join the waitlist.
SPEAKER_00So do you need so do you need um GitHub Copilot then to sort of use that then? Is that a prerequisite? Yes, yes, yes.
SPEAKER_01In general, you need GitHub Copilot for everything now.
SPEAKER_00It seems like, yeah, it feels like that, yeah, maybe even deliberately or indirectly, they're sort of pushing um a lot of these experiences. Okay, you need to have GitHub Copilot kind of in the frame to use some of this sort of stuff. Um, so whether that is a deliberate sort of choice, whether it's to try and drive some usage there, or maybe there's some advantage around all of that. Yeah, that's that's your so that's the advantage from Microsoft that there is consumption by spilling on um on GitHub Copilot. So um you are getting charged the real cost.
